It's them, the ancestors.

The kings and queens before her, before us.

The ones who walked the land, gallantly.
Who protected all they were, and stood for, all we are.
The husbands, the wives.
The fathers, mothers, sisters, the brothers.
And warriors imperatively

She is them as they are her
They are us as we are them
And we are the voice, their voice.
As they were the voice, our voice.

Again she heard; clearly now, "Omo-Ekun!".
"Look" they said; "look in the mirror".
So she did, and saw she did.
The reflection of power, grace, beauty...
Magnificence like no other
A reflection that was her
All that she was, is and meant to be.
She saw for herself

So she stood gallantly
Found her voice, spoke and sang daringly.
Only then did she know,
She is the voice of victors.
When she speaks, it's a roar, you'd swear.
When she sings, it's a canary, you'd swear.

Like her mother, and the queens before her, it's a sound of glory.
Like her father, and the kings before him, it's a big-cat roar.
Do you think otherwise?
May the ancestors strike your mind!
Did you open your mouth to say otherwise?
May they take your tongue!

"Omo-Ekun": the brothers and sisters; the true heros, true kings, queens and the real allies.
She stands gallantly with them
Like the Aare Ona Kakanfos, Baloguns, Akoguns, Jarumis, Dikes, Iyalodes, Akọni obinrins, Dahomey Amazons...
Our Aso-Ogun worn; Mofu, Bante, Onde aluwo, Ofa, Bajinotu, Takouba, Ida, in hand and mind.
United to protect all that we are, all we stand for.
We must retake our kingdoms,
And glory from all evil.
Homecoming is imminent

Like the ones before us,
We are Omo-Ekun.
Omo-Ekun is her as she is Omo-Ekun
Omo-Ekun is I as I am Omo-Ekun
She is them as they are her
They are us as we are them
And we are the voice, their voice.
As they were the voice, our voice.

Together we levitate
Together we hear their voices, like our own.
The ancestors calling
On they call, call out to us.
"Omo-Ekun!"; A call to glory: "Omo-Ekun!"
